Aruna yoga is a syncretic yoga practice which draws from multiple yogic forms and philosophy, including hatha, vinyasa and Kundalini inspired tools and technologies, as well as from other spiritual traditions, such as meditation, Kabbalah, energy healing and theological philosophy. It is rooted in deep respect and homage to these traditions and their venerable teachers and gurus.

It is a practice based on being present on all levels: to what is here, now and to being still with what arises. No matter what that is. Just as it presents.

Aruna Yoga teaches how to welcome the present moment and suspend judgment. It offers a way of stilling the fluctuation of the mind through becoming a witness or observer.

While Aruna Yoga emanates from many different yogic and spiritual traditions, it was born of the transmutational potency of the sacred Mountain Arunachala in Tiruvanamallai in India. Aruna Yoga is premised on the teachings of Self enquiry born of Arunachala itself, and espoused by Ramana Maharshi. Its foundation is Advaita Vedanta, the philosophy of non-duality, that there is only one reality, this that may be called truth, God, divinity, creation, OM or nature. All the rest is illusion or separation from this one reality. Our aim is to realign with this “one,” which is our real identity as truth or sat nam (sat = truth, nam = identity).

Aruna Yoga is a healing practice that aims to awaken the practitioner to their true nature, to the freedom, peace and truth that is within us all. From this space of the infinite self, all healing, transformation and awakening is available. The practice cultivates this intrinsic, inner connection. We use yoga asana (posture), pranayama (breathing exercises), concentration and meditation to still the mind, by yoking it to what is present. Music, sound and emotional catharsis form part of its characteristics.

The practice interweaves the singular enquiry of ‘Who am I?’ into conscious awareness to dissolve identification and separation from our true nature as freedom. In answering the question of Self enquiry, we realize the state of Sat Nam (“Truth” as identity).

A pillar of the practice of Aruna yoga is based on consciously creating our realities through the practice of intention and the power of the word. We clarify our thoughts and words to be impeccable and let our infinite awareness direct the course of this highest intention.

There is no need to be physically flexible or even able, to practice Aruna Yoga. Its aim is to open up and release emotional blocks using diverse yogic and spiritual technologies. Those wishing to practice Aruna Yoga vigorously, will experience a strong physical asana (posture) practice with a palpable flavour of Kundalini Yoga. Yet it is a bodiless yoga too and just being present in sessions, without participating in the physical activity will open you up to its healing capacity.

Similarly, and despite its roots in these traditions, the practice of Aruna Yoga does not require adherence to any spiritual belief, religious ideology or alignment to any system of spiritual or philosophical practice. Aruna Yoga is an expression of yoga as self realization. It compliments and honours all filters of belief and identification and aims to bring the practitioner to a realization of the Self.

Aruna Yoga is internationally recognised and the foundation training is formatted as a Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher Training (200 hour) for those who wish to become yoga teachers and share the technologies of yoga and meditation as a tool for healing. It may be incorporated into your existing healing therapies or simply used as a tool for personal transformation.

It forms the basis for Aruna Process work, which are one on one sessions, incorporating the teachings of Aruna Yoga, including meditations as medication, healing, energy work, pranayama, emotional work, Kabbalah and yoga, all threaded together through the power of the word and intention.  The goal of Aruna (as yoga and in processes), is to liberate emotional blocks, open into healing and cultivate inner connection.

The word ‘Yoga,’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means to yoke together, or to bring into union. May Aruna Yoga yoke together that which is disparate into a recognition of One consciousness, One Union, the meeting as the ‘I am’ that resonates as a reverberation of the Self. The invitation is to meet the Self, and to abide here as it. From Self is born the infinite possibility to heal, to create and to liberate. To be.

The inner quest is answered and thereby silenced.

Let us meet here.

Aruna Anatomy and the Energy Body

with Dorinda Farver

This workshop will give you insights into how your Energy Body works most efficiently.
Every physical ache and pain in the body has an emotional attachment to it. If you can find the weakest muscle and make it stronger, you will also free the emotion and come back into balance.  Having an understanding of these simple physical techniques, will give you a much deeper and effective way to practice and Heal!
A muscle strong and healthy because of the amount of energy flowing through it, not just due to the size of the muscle. When the energy runs, blockages are released.. Your body and mind can stay healthy and clear.
Noticing energy is opening the door to meditation, which is your souls guide to wisdom.
This is not just lecturing information.
You will practice/feel and walk away from this with a wisdom and understanding from your own personal (soul) experience.
