With a background as a both a lawyer and a University academic, Nicki’s discovery of yoga was epiphanic. She moved from South Africa where she was born and raised, to Antwerp, Belgium at a moment where the local practice of yoga was in its infancy. Her life’s path shifted profoundly from corporate and subsequent academia as Nicki began to explore yoga through intense practice and theoretical study with yogic master teachers worldwide. Her passion for the practice of yoga grew exponentially and took her on an international journey of learning and teaching and led to the creation of Yoga Form (now Radiant Light Yoga, Antwerp and Brussels), a yoga centre and community that encompassed various forms of yoga. Yoga Form was instrumental in developing and bringing eclectic forms of yoga to Belgium and was the first to offer Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in Antwerp. Nicki now lives in Israel where she teaches regular Yoga and Meditation and offers therapy, Journey work and healing to the growing local community.
Nicki has been fortunate to learn and practice under various teachers and masters and draws her inspiration from diverse yogic schools and traditions including Kabbalah, theology and philosophy. Besides her qualifications as a lawyer and lecturer, Nicki is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) of the Yoga Alliance and a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Teacher through Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) as well as a prenatal yoga teacher trained in the Khalsa Way. Nicki is also a recognized and accredited practitioner of the Journey work as initiated and guided by Brandon Bays. This healing technology has proven pivotal for her personal path and she is happy to share in the transmission of this evocative work. Nicki’s attention and fascination with healing has been present her whole life and she uses diverse healing systems to access the infinite healing capacity that is available to all.
Nicki also created a yoga and spiritually inspired jewelry line in collaboration with her father, Sid Forman, the renowned South African jeweler, master craftsman and artist. The proceeds of this line were offered to support the dissemination of yogic teachings to underprivileged communities in South Africa.
Nicki is the founder of the practice of Aruna Yoga which is a yoga practice encompassing all forms of yoga, including hatha, vinyasa and Kundalini inspired practices and technologies. Aruna Yoga is a healing modality, a unique form of yoga that allows for emotional release, encompasses yogic psychology and is a practice based on being present on all levels: to what is here and to be still with what arises just as it is. This programme on which Aruna Yoga is based is a system of healing through the ancient technologies of yoga and mediation.
She works privately in one on one therapeutic sessions in person or worldwide on Skype. She teaches internationally in Europe, India and Asia and in Israel. The programme of Aruna Yoga is currently in development and the first Aruna Yoga book is due for release in 2018. The Aruna Yoga Teacher Training and programme for personal awakening is being offered in August 2018 in Europe, and in Israel in early 2019.
Her intention is to spread the teachings of Aruna Yoga and Healing as widely as possible so that the recognition of the capacity to heal through the body, emotional release and inner connection is made available to everyone, everywhere! The journey to self awareness, awakening, peace and love is available here and it is Nicki’s highest vision to disseminate this to all beings, without exception.
