Aruna Yoga Teacher Training
Yoga Alliance 200 Hour
The Aruna Yoga Teacher/Life Training programme is due to start in January 2019. Although it is a Yoga Teacher Training, it goes way beyond that and is designed to cultivate deep, personal emotional and spiritual work. It is more of a life training than a yoga training although its language of expression is indeed yoga! It really is about self enquiry and using the tools of yoga to really be applied as a living, working, breathing embodied experience of the Self.

about aruna yoga
The Best of Yoga
Encompassing All Forms of Yoga
Aruna yoga is a yoga practice which encompasses all forms of yoga, including hatha, vinyasa and Kundalini inspired practices and technologies. It is a practice based on being present on all levels: to what is here and to be still with what arises. No matter what that is. It teaches to welcome the present moment and suspend judgment. by being present, we fall in love with what is. In the present moment is our real sense of Self. It offers a way of stilling the fluctuation of the mind through becoming a witness or observer.
It is born of the transmutational potency of the sacred Mountain Arunachala in Tiruvanamallai in India. Aruna Yoga is premised on the teachings of self enquiry born of Arunachala itself, and espoused by Ramana Maharshi. Its premise is Advaita Vedanta, or the philosophy of there being only one reality, this that may be called Truth, God, Divinity, Creation, OM, nature. All the rest is illusion or separation from this one. Our aim is to realign with this One which is our real identity as Truth or Sat Nam (Sat = Truth, Nam = Identity).
We use the yoga mat as the laboratory of the Self, to understand and identify our identity constructs, patterns, behaviours, tendencies and habits. Through conscious awareness we are able to shift these patterns. Knowledge is power and self knowledge is empowerment.
Aruna Yoga is a healing practice which aim is to awaken the practitioner to their true nature, to the freedom, peace and truth that is within us all! From this space of the Infinite Self, all healing, transformation and awakening is available. The practice cultivates this inner connection. Music, sound, emotional catharsis are part of its characteristics. We use yoga asana (posture), pranayama (breathing exercises), concentration and meditation to still the mind. We interweave the singular enquiry of ‘Who am I?’ to dissolve identification and separation from our true nature as freedom. In answering the question of self enquiry we self realize the state of Sat Nam.
Becoming a Teacher
Aruna Yoga is a hybrid of diverse yogic lineage, echoing a language of Truth, one that speaks through the instrument of the form, into the pervasiveness of the formless. This training is intended to help develop your personal practice of yoga and leads to self awareness and personal transformation. It is also an accredited Yoga Alliance Teacher Training for those who wish to become yoga teachers, to share the technologies of yoga and meditation and is intended as a tool for awareness. It may be incorporated into your existing healing therapies or simply used for personal transformation and awakening.

“I have been going to Nicki’s classes from the time she started the Aruna yoga. I am very inspired from the classes. They really cover everything. The teaching that is coming through is incredible. It all comes together into a class like no other. Very uplifting, inspiring and healing.”Yossi Hanoch
“Nicki, I was trying to digest these two days. Thank you for 2 wonderful days where I felt like a kid in a candy shop. It was so inspiring, such interesting people that I want to discover and share with, so much to take in and I felt like I didn’t want the day to end. I felt really present and at home in a way – like I’ve been waiting for this all my life and the teachings has been waiting for me to reach it. And time went by so quick. I literally can’t wait for next time. (I wish we could do it more often)
It’s everything I’ve been waiting for and more. “
“I’ve known Nicki for many years, and have watched her grow spiritually as a mother and leader. Her dedication to help to serve humanity is impeccable. Whenever I think of Nicki, I think of Seva (selfless service). May her endeavors to help all bring her great happiness and fulfillment of her life’s purpose.“Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa
