Aruna Yoga Teacher Training

Foundational Programme

in Israel

Join us in Israel

The Aruna Yoga Teacher Training 200 hour Foundational Programme is offered in Israel and Europe. The training is an accredited Yoga Teacher Training programme after which you will be a certified Aruna Yoga Teacher.

Although it is a Yoga Teacher Training, it goes way beyond that and is designed to cultivate deep, personal emotional and spiritual work. It is more of a life training than a yoga training although its language of expression is indeed yoga! It really is about Self enquiry and using the tools of yoga to really be applied as a living, working, breathing embodied experience of the Self.

What To Expect

During the year we will go through a profound, personal process that will guide you deeper into the Self, with an aim to free you from your limiting ideas, liberate blocked emotions and release any aspect that is somehow keeping you small. We will learn about yoga, experience the Self through the medium of yoga, philosophy, yoga psychology, postures (asanas), breathing (pranayama), yogic seals (mudra), energy locks (Bandha), healing techniques and various meditations.

The training will equip you with the yogic knowledge to teach yoga, or give Aruna Yoga sessions, and mainly apply the teachings to your life so you can live from a more conscious place, where freedom and joy becomes your daily reality.

Requirements & content

This Teacher Training consists of 20 days of attendance, spread over one year. We will meet 2 days a month (excluding the July and August period). You need to be present all of these days to receive a certificate.

The following topics will be covered over the duration of the course:

about aruna yoga

The Best of Yoga

Encompassing All Forms of Yoga

Aruna yoga is a yoga practice which encompasses all forms of yoga, including hatha, vinyasa and Kundalini inspired practices and technologies. It is a practice based on being present on all levels: to what is here and to be still with what arises.  No matter what that is. It teaches to welcome the present moment and suspend judgment. by being present, we fall in love with what is. In the present moment is our real sense of Self. It offers a way of stilling the fluctuation of the mind through becoming a witness or observer.

Self Enquiry

It is born of the transmutational potency of the sacred Mountain Arunachala in Tiruvanamallai in India. Aruna Yoga is premised on the teachings of self enquiry born of Arunachala itself, and espoused by Ramana Maharshi. Its premise is Advaita Vedanta, or the philosophy of there being only one reality, this that may be called Truth, God, Divinity, Creation, OM, nature. All the rest is illusion or separation from this one. Our aim is to realign with this One which is our real identity as Truth or Sat Nam (Sat = Truth, Nam = Identity).

We use the yoga mat as the laboratory of the Self, to understand and identify our identity constructs, patterns, behaviours, tendencies and habits. Through conscious awareness we are able to shift these patterns. Knowledge is power and self knowledge is empowerment.

There is no need to be flexible or even physically able to practice to do Aruna Yoga. Its aim is to open up to emotional blocks that are released using the technology of the various lineages of yoga, pranayama and meditation. Of course if practiced vigilantly it has a strong physical asana (posture) practice with a palpable flavour of Kundalini Yoga. Yet it is a bodiless yoga too and even just being present in sessions, without participating in the physical activity will open you up to its healing capacity.

Sat Nam

Aruna Yoga is a healing practice which aim is to awaken the practitioner to their true nature, to the freedom, peace and truth that is within us all! From this space of the Infinite Self, all healing, transformation and awakening is available. The practice cultivates this inner connection. Music, sound, emotional catharsis are part of its characteristics. We use yoga asana (posture), pranayama (breathing exercises), concentration and meditation to still the mind. We interweave the singular enquiry of ‘Who am I?’ to dissolve identification and separation from our true nature as freedom. In answering the question of self enquiry we self realize the state of Sat Nam.

Becoming a Teacher

Aruna Yoga is a hybrid of diverse yogic lineage, echoing a language of Truth, one that speaks through the instrument of the form, into the pervasiveness of the formless. This training is intended to help develop your personal practice of yoga and leads to self awareness and personal transformation. It is also an accredited Yoga Alliance Teacher Training for those who wish to become yoga teachers, to share the technologies of yoga and meditation and is intended as a tool for awareness. It may be incorporated into your existing healing therapies or simply used for personal transformation and awakening.

Stilling the Mind

Join me on this divine experiment through yoga into Yoga (which means union). May Aruna Yoga yoke together the shards of separation into an envelopment into this that is One. One consciousness, One Union, the ‘I am’ that speaks soundlessly and remains untouched. The invitation is to really meet the Self, and to abide here as it. From this space, the miraculous is accessible, peace is here, now.

Nicki Forman

Nicki Forman

Yoga Instructor

With a background as a both a lawyer and an academic, Nicki’s discovery of yoga was epiphanic. Her life’s path shifted profoundly as Nicki began to explore yoga through intense practice and theoretical study. Her passion for the practice of yoga grew exponentially and led to the creation of Yoga Form (now Radiant Light Yoga), a yoga centre and community that encompassed various forms of yoga. Yoga Form was the first to offer Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in Antwerp. She now lives in Israel where she teaches regular Yoga and Meditation locally and internationally. Nicki has been fortunate to learn and practice under various teachers and masters and continues to draw her inspiration from diverse yogic schools and traditions.  Nicki is also deeply immersed in Journey work as initiated and guided by Brandon Bays. She is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) of the Yoga Alliance and a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Teacher through Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) as well as a prenatal yoga teacher trained in the Khalsa Way. Nicki founded the practice of Aruna Yoga, which incorporates the various lineages of yoga, has a focus on yoga psychology and emotional release and healing.

The total costs for this training of level 1 is 11,800 NIS (590 NIS per day). “I have been going to Nicki’s classes from the time she started the Aruna yoga. I am very inspired from the classes. They really cover everything. The teaching that is coming through is incredible. It all comes together into a class like no other. Very uplifting, inspiring and healing.” Yossi Hanoch

Student, Yoga Studio

“Nicki, I was trying to digest these two days. Thank you for 2 wonderful days where I felt like a kid in a candy shop. It was so inspiring, such interesting people that I want to discover and share with, so much to take in and I felt like I didn’t want the day to end. I felt really present and at home in a way – like I’ve been waiting for this all my life and the teachings has been waiting for me to reach it. And time went by so quick. I literally can’t wait for next time. (I wish we could do it more often)

It’s everything I’ve been waiting for and more. “ Jessica Cressy

Student, Teacher Training

I’ve known Nicki for many years, and have watched her grow spiritually as a mother and leader. Her dedication to help to serve humanity is impeccable. Whenever I think of Nicki, I think of Seva (selfless service). May her endeavors to help all bring her great happiness and fulfillment of her life’s purpose.Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa
